Point to Ponder: Day 29

Now we are getting to the good stuff. Now we are getting to the point. I remember why I like Rick Warren so much.

It is really all about service. We are not saved simply to be saved. Warren does not count how many people are baptized at his church; he counts how many people serve others. In the Life Development Process being saved is only first base, doing Mission is home. And as in baseball not credit is given for runners left on base.

Have you ever had a feeling there has got to be more to life? But then wondered why you felt this way because you supposedly have all the answers because you have been saved, right?

I have.

I was baptized when I was six, I have always gone to church, I have known Jesus all my life, I have always had a relationship with God, I have constantly read the Bible. But still I have felt there has to be something more (probably because of all of the above). For a long time I did not know what.

I am beginning to realize I was not saved so I could go to heaven.

I was saved to bring heaven to earth.

I was not saved to be with God when I die.

I was saved so I could make this world a place where God could be with us now.

I was saved to serve.

When you are saved you become Jesus to the world. And Jesus came to serve.

You have been called not to be above others, but to serve others. Not to condemn the world but to save it. (Sound familiar, it should).
