Day 13
“God wants all of me.”
Purpose Driven Life
Point to Ponder: Day 13
I talked about my experience of this idea on Day 10 .
Today I have an alternate angle.
I love film. I have a passion for visual storytelling. When I accepted God’s call in my life to be a Pastor I thought that I was giving up on filmmaking. But it has proven a hard thing to do. Filmmaking is in my blood; I cannot stop dreaming about it. From time to time this makes me feel torn between what I want to do (filmmaking) and what God wants me to do (pastoring).
But God wants all of me. Including my desire to be a filmmaker. Surrendering all of me to God does not mean giving up who I am, it means using who I am for God’s redemptive purposes. Looking back on my life God has allowed me to do this over the past five summers being a video producer and program director with Centri-Kid among other things. I hope that God allows me to continue to be of service using my gifts and passions for God’s redemptive mission in the world. To me that would be the highest honor.
