Point to Ponder: Day 8
Worship is bringing pleasure to God. To live a life of worship is to live a life that brings God pleasure. This idea should warm the heart of everyone that loves God. Just as thinking about it now does so to mine.
It also is sad, because it brings to light all the things that we do in the name of God that do not bring God pleasure. All the times we go to church and sit through nonsense simply to say we have gone to church this week. I feel God says to us the words of Isaiah 29:13 far too often.
“These people come near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. Their worship of me is made up only of rules taught by men.”
