Day 15

“I was formed for God’s family.”
Purpose Driven Life
Point to Ponder: Day 15

Family is a very important issue for me. I grew up in a very loving and supportive family. Both of my parents love God, each other and me and my sisters very much. It is sad to me when I see so many children who do not get this opportunity. Because of the failure of the nuclear family in America it is time for a new theology of the family to develop. One based on God’s will and not American culture.

This new family is what Jesus talks about in the Gospels. It is translated Kingdom of God. The kingdom of God is the family of God. God’s family is the model for which we need to base family values. God’s family is much bigger than the nuclear family. God’s family includes everyone who does the will of God, no matter who they are. God’s family is a global family, the family that we as Christians should be striving to embrace.

The question to consider for today was, “How can I start treating other believers like members of my own family?”

This is a very important question. Perhaps the most important question if God’s dream of a family is to become a reality.
